Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Families,
We have had an eventful fortnight as the community watched the speedy evolution of our new toilet block. It is our hope that these will be open for use as of next week. We had our handover meeting this week and there are just a couple of final touches happening as we speak. We have been discussing with the students our values of Care and Respect and how important these are – ESPECIALLY, when we are gifted a brand new, clean, modern toilet block. It is fair to say that some students don’t show much care or respect when using the toilets at school, so we would greatly appreciate some follow-up conversations at home about toilet use and our school values: Caring for the toilets, Showing Respect for the toilets, Being mindful of our Community when sharing resources.
Citizens of the Term
Next week we will have our final assembly for the term where will again celebrate (as we do every term) our fabulous Citizens of the Term. It is always a highlight of the term to hear of the recipients and the stories behind them earning this auspicious accolade. Our students, your children, do magnificent things each and every day and this is one way we can recognise their ability to operationalise our school values, as an example to others. Please come along to assembly at 2:45PM on Friday 19th June if you are free!
Semester One Reports/Portfolios
Lastly, Semester One student reports will be released on Compass on the 25th June, and students will bring home their Portfolios on the last day of term. The reports and portfolios will continue to provide important details about student learning attainment, but full descriptive comments may not be included on some reports as a result of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union. Teachers will of course be pleased to discuss with you your child’s progress at our next parent-teacher-student conferences scheduled for Tuesday 21st July from 10am until 6pm.
A reminder of a couple of important dates:
Thursday 25th June – Reports released on Compass
Friday 26th June – 2:30PM dismissal for last day of Term 2
Monday 13th July – Term 3 begins
Tuesday 21st July – Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences (pupil free school day)
