MHiSP

Dear Parents,
To continue to support our students to achieve their best academically we know they need to be safe, confident, valued, and supported in their social and emotional wellbeing.
To support this vision, our school is continuing our partnership with the Victorian Goverment's Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS) initiative. The MHiPS program, developed by the Victorian Department of Education in partnership with the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) and the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Education, is a proactive, system-led program designed to build emotional fitness, resilience, and wellbeing directly within the school environment.
Rather than waiting for a child to encounter a major hurdle, MHiPS allows us to embed early, practical toolkits that support every student's social and emotional growth. As part of this program, I am excited to connect with you all in my role as MHiPS leader.
In upcoming newsletters, I will be sharing quick, practical insights, vocabulary tips, and simple regulation tools that might be helpful at home. Whether it's practicing a quick "brain break" or learning how to catch unhelpful thoughts. We want our students to be mentally happy and healthy at home school and home.
If you ever have any questions about our whole-school wellbeing frameworks or the social-emotional programs running in your child's year level, please feel free to reach out.
Here’s to a happy, healthy, and resilient rest of the term!
Regards,
Marta Kulger (MHiSP Leader) and Darren Gibson (Deputy Principal Wellbeing)
