Dear Parents and Carers,
This week, members of our school community gathered for the Eucharist Family Workshop, a beautiful evening of reflection and preparation for students as they take the next step in their faith journey. This workshop allowed families to dive into the deep spiritual meaning of the Eucharist, exploring its role as a sacrament of love, transformation, and lifelong nourishment.

To build an increased sense of solidarity and fellowship, families began the evening by gathering in small circles to share bread and 'wine' (cordial) together. Each table was set with flatbread, a pitcher and glasses to mimic the ritual gesture of the breaking of the bread. This hands-on experience beautifully set the stage for our discussion on the Last Supper and the community traditions behind Matthew's Gospel.
Guided by the theme Take, eat; this is my body (Mt 26:26), parents and children had the

opportunity to collaboratively unpack the scripture and learn about the Sacrament. This night encouraged everyone to reflect on how Christ is present in our everyday hyman experiences. They finished the night by designing a family symbol to illustrate their own interpetation and understanding. These symbols will then be used at the Eucharist celebration next week.
Thank you to all the families who attended and brought such warmth and community spirit to the evening. We ask everyone to keep these children in your prayers as they prepare for their First Eucharist celebration at Our Lady's Parish Church on Sunday, June 21st, 2026.

Yours in faith,
Sophie Mackinnon
