Wellbeing and Inclusion Term 1 Celebration Page

Wellbeing Update
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our wonderful school community for your ongoing support of student wellbeing and positive learning environments. It has been fantastic to see the way students, staff, and families are embracing some of our new initiatives this term.
As part of our continued focus on creating calm, consistent, and supportive classrooms, we have introduced two key approaches across the school.
Class Dojo – Celebrating Positive Behaviour
Class Dojo has been rolled out as a way to recognise and celebrate the many positive behaviours we see every day. Students are awarded points for demonstrating our school values—such as kindness, effort, respect, and responsibility. These points are not just symbolic; they build towards meaningful rewards.
When students are ready to redeem their points, they are able to choose from a reward grid, offering a variety of options that cater to different interests and motivations. This might include privileges like extra play time, choosing a class activity, working with a friend, or leadership opportunities. By giving students choice, we are fostering ownership, motivation, and a sense of achievement.
Traffic Light Behaviour System – Clear and Consistent Expectations
Alongside this, we have implemented a traffic light behaviour process to support clear and consistent expectations across all classrooms. This system is designed to minimise disruptions to teaching and learning while supporting students to self-regulate.
- Green: Ready to learn, meeting expectations
- Yellow: A reminder to refocus and make a positive choice
- Red: Continued disruption requiring follow-up support and reflection
The strength of this approach lies in its simplicity and consistency. It allows staff to respond quickly and calmly, without interrupting the flow of learning, while giving students clear opportunities to adjust their behaviour before further action is needed.
Together, these initiatives are helping us build a positive, predictable, and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive.
Thank you again for your partnership and support—it truly makes a difference.
