We would like to celebrate all the students’ hard work this term by hosting open classrooms on Tuesday, March 31st, and Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, from 2:30pm to 3:00pm. The main school gates will open at 2:30pm.
This is an informal celebration of their learning and we would love for you to join us in celebrating your child's efforts and growth. You can also walk around the classroom and look at other students’ work.
Here are some simple questions you can ask your child:
How did you improve?
Please note that the following classes will have Specialist sessions at the same time as the open classrooms on Wednesday: 6B, 2B, 3D, 3C, 1B, 4A, and 4B in the Library.
Parents are welcome to visit the Specialist classes to see what students are doing; however, this will not involve showcasing their workbooks.
Thank you to all the community members who contributed to the success of the school disco. The students had a fantastic time enjoying the event with their friends and DJ Con.

A special shout-out goes to our amazing Parents and Friends Association, along with the key members who organised the event. Their dedication and effort in planning every detail were essential in making the night a success.

Thank you to all the school council members for attending our first meeting of 2026. During this meeting, we elected our office bearers for the year. I am pleased to announce the following:
President: Jodie Hutchinson
Vice President: Leeanne Honeyball
Treasurer: Peter Ripoli
Minute Taker/Secretary: Sharni Mullin
Our Subcommittees:
Finance
Wollert PS Parents & Friends
These subcommittees will continue to meet in Term 2 and are open to all members of the Wollert PS community. This is a great opportunity for those not on the school council to contribute to our school. If you are interested in joining one of these subcommittees, please contact the office, and we will provide you with the meeting dates and times. Thank you in advance for your help!
In staffing news, we wish Kanu Kanu all the best as she begins her maternity leave in Term 2, awaiting the arrival of her baby. We also have exciting baby news for Ashley Tilley, who is expecting her first child and will be finishing at the very start of Term 3. Minuri Perera will cover for Ashley and is well-known to the students, having spent time in our classrooms this term—she is a fabulous educator and a great addition to Team Wollert. Minuri and Ashley will work together next term to ensure a smooth handover and keep our students at the center of all we do, supporting their continued growth and success.
Enrolments for Prep (Foundation) in 2027 will open on the first day of Term 2. Parents are invited to complete their child's enrolment at the school office. To do so, please fill out the school enrolment form and provide proof of your child's date of birth as well as their immunisation record. Once the enrolment process is complete, new students will be added to the register for 2027 classes.
If you have any questions or need clarification regarding the enrolment process, please contact Jacinta, our Community & Enrolment Coordinator, at the main office.
As we head into the break, I wish everyone a relaxing and safe journey. I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their support during Term 1. Throughout this term, I have truly felt a strong sense of community that prioritises our students in everything we do.
To the staff at Wollert Primary School, we are incredibly fortunate to have each of you, and we greatly appreciate all that you do for our students every day. I hope everyone enjoys a wonderful break with their loved ones and takes this time to recharge, learn new things, and explore new places. I look forward to seeing everyone in Term 2, fully energised and ready for another successful term. Let’s continue to thrive together!
To wrap up the term, we have a ray of sunshine from our Art Program. Thank you to Betsie and the students for decorating our main office with Kandinsky-inspired concentric circles.

Safe travels over the break,
Justin Lania
