Getting to School on Time Matters!

Arriving at school on time helps students feel calm, connected and ready to learn. Each morning at LPPS begins with a morning circle, where students build connections, share ideas, explore our THRIVE value, and prepare for the day ahead. Missing this important start can make it harder for children to settle in and feel confident.

Helpful tips for smooth mornings:

The night before:

  • Pack school bags
  • Lay out uniforms
  • Prepare lunches
  • Check school updates

In the morning:

  • Wake up with enough time
  • Eat a healthy breakfast
  • Get dressed and ready
  • Double-check everything is packed
  • Leave home on time

Make mornings easier:

  • Create a simple routine and display it at home
  • Reduce distractions like screens
  • Give clear instructions and lots of encouragement
  • Support children to become more independent
  • Keep things positive—talk about something to look forward to!

A consistent routine and a positive start to the day can make a big difference in your child’s learning, wellbeing and attendance.
