In the Classroom
and out and about!
Thank you to everyone for your patience and support at our Mother’s Day Event this morning. As this was the first time we have run the event in this format, we are incredibly grateful for the understanding and enthusiasm shown by our school community with over 400 attendees.
A huge congratulations and thank you to Caitlin Rossi for her outstanding organisation of the event. It was wonderful to see so many mums, nans and special people enjoying time together with our students. The atmosphere was warm, happy and full of community spirit, and the photo areas were certainly a highlight of the morning!
Thank you also to Ray White for generously providing the coffee van and flowers for our families to enjoy.
I would also like to sincerely thank our staff for stepping in to help in so many ways, our staff children who assisted as runners throughout the morning, and our teachers for warmly welcoming families into classrooms to see what learning looks like in our school today.
We are always looking to improve our events and have already reflected on ideas for next year, including additional entry points, more photo areas in the hall, and a simpler food option to help the flow of the morning.
We truly value community feedback. If you have any suggestions for future events, please email the school email address with “Mother’s Day Event Feedback” in the subject line and we will include your ideas in our planning for next year.
Thank you again for joining us this morning. We hope all of our mums, nans and special people have a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday.
kind regards
Deb Haddow

On Wednesday 6th of May, all the Year 6 students went to EMC for a day. Throughout the day, we participated in four different high school subjects. We got to learn about geometric shapes and tangrams in Maths, and built a wooden ship in Wood Work using nails, hammers, pinchers and vices to hold our work still. We also got involved in a PE session where we played lots of games that involved teamwork, and lastly we learnt all about the programs EMC has to offer. Some of the school leaders told us all about these programs which included the Performing Arts Collective (PAC), Leaders in Sport (LIS), the Aspirant Leaders (TAL) and the Murdoch Program. To end the day, we were lucky enough to see an impressive dance performance by one of the Ultimate Energy students. Overall, we all had a blast and are even more excited for high school now!
