Imagine! It’s almost 50 years since these young athletes took to the track at the Athletics Carnival, chasing records and striving for glory. Over the years, Mazenod has seen an abundance of promising talent. Some students went on to become Olympians, others excelled in their chosen sporting fields, while many discovered the true spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition.

For Year 7 students, the Carnival also marked the beginning of their lifelong connection to their House. In the photos you will see Fr Kevin Davine OMI in charge of the starter’s pistol. Bob Peacock keeping score, various staff observers and a student holding high the Charlebois house banner.

This sporting tradition has been renewed every February since 1977 and will continue once again in February 2026.

You are invited to access digital copies of all past Mazenodian magazines in the Mazenod College Digital Archive.
