District & House Athletics Day

House Sports Day-grades 3-6

Yesterday students in grades 3-6 participated in their House Sports Day Carnival at George Knott Reserve. Our Fitzroy P.S houses are: Acacia (yellow), Eucalypt (green),Grevillea ( red) and Melaleuca (blue).

Each child competed in events based on their age group. They had a great day and competed in different events:

• Discus
• Shot Put
• Hurdles
• 100m Sprint
• 200m Sprint
• Relays
• Javelin
• 1km Cross Country

The aim of the day was to compete in the 8 events, however the main focus was on teamwork, cheering on peers, representing our school values, and trying our best.

Athletics District Competition

On Friday 22nd August students were so excited to participate in the athletics sports carnival, competing against other schools in our district.

A select group of students from grades 3-6 had been invited to participate and represent FPS based on their outstanding performances and fastest times in the 100m and 200m sprint events – congratulations on this achievement! They showed amazing sportmanship and maturity. 

Well done to all the students who participated and showed sportmanship, school values and team effort!
