Parking Reminder/Change of end of day ‘Kiss n Drop’ Area procedure

The end of day parking continues to be a safety issue for students and staff.

Some members of our community have been parking in the 'Kiss n Drop' area for longer than allowed. This causes congestion and makes it difficult for our staff to exit the Northern Car Park safely. It also affects the regular routes of other cars and buses along Collins Parade heading South.

To improve this situation, our Governing Council has decided to trial a new system starting in Term 3. With the kind assistance of our Governing Council Volunteers, who will be easily identifiable in orange vests, we will implement the following:

• Cones will be placed in the 'Kiss n Drop' area at 2:40 pm. If you are parked there, you will be kindly asked to move.
• The cones will be removed at 2:59 pm, allowing cars to enter and pick up students. If your child is not ready within 3 minutes, we kindly ask you to move on and re-join the queue to keep the area safe and flowing smoothly.
• Alternative pick up areas near the school are encouraged for you to organise with your child.

This trial will run for the first four weeks of Term 3 in the afternoons. Our leadership team will monitor this, and the Governing Council will review it at their first meeting in Term 3. Please reach out to talk to the Governing Council members or Leadership if you have alternative suggestions for supporting safe pick up at the end of the day.
