Together We Grow, Together We Glow!

Dear School Families,

As we approach the school holidays, we are reaching out with a heartfelt request to support our Caring Casseroles program - a quiet but powerful way we care for one another in times of need.

Throughout this year, our school community has provided 15 meals to families going through difficult circumstances - be it illness, grief, or unexpected life events. These meals have been a source of not just nourishment, but comfort and connection. However, our freezer shelves are currently empty, and we can’t provide a caring casserole if we don’t have one to give.

If your family is in a place where you can, we invite you to consider preparing a simple, freezable meal during the holidays. It’s a meaningful way to give back, especially if you or someone you love has ever received kindness during a tough time. This is a chance to pay it forward - to be that quiet helping hand someone else may need.

Getting your child involved in the preparation is also a beautiful way to teach compassion, empathy, and the power of community. Cooking together can be a school holiday activity with heart - one that helps children understand the importance of looking out for others in practical, caring ways.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • All meals are anonymous - families receiving them don’t know who they’re from, and vice versa.
  • Meals are frozen and stored at school, ready to be shared quickly when a need arises. Meals don't stay in our freezer for long; they're often in a home within days.
  • If you’d like to contribute, please label meals with ingredients, date of preparation, and any reheating instructions. Meals can be dropped off to Marika or at the school office during school hours.

Thank you for helping make our school a place where no one feels alone during hard times. One small act of kindness can make all the difference!

Thank you in advance!

Marika Smith
