Principal's Report

Kaylene Kubeil

It was terrific to start the week with our Year 3-6 assembly. It was great to hear all the learning updates and reflections from the Year 5 & 6 City camp from the week prior.

The school suffered some damage to its shade sails due to the strong winds experienced throughout the week. Taking into account the safety of all, the damaged sails have been removed. This does make for a very bare-looking yard.  We hope to have these replaced very soon to protect our students and the playgrounds.

Principal's Awards

Congratulations to the following students who received Principal's Awards at Monday's assembly.

  • Cadence Arthur - For showing empathy and compassion, raising $1032.00 for the Mozambique School Lunch Initiative.
  • Charlie Stewart - For offering genuine support and encouragement to a fellow student, giving up his spot in Cross Country and helping them to succeed through kindness and teamwork.
  • Ava Argote - For displaying empathy by giving up her position in Cross Country to help a WPS student in Year 3. She encouraged the student to complete the race, comforting the student to the finish line.
  • Nathaniel Bundy - For excellent sportsmanship, organising his Tee Ball team into batting order and fielding positions and during the match, constantly encouraging all players to their first team win.
  • Nathaniel Richmond - For showing exceptional compassion and maturity by assisting a lost student from another school at the zoo.

Brain Buddies

One new initiative we've introduced is our Brain Buddies. Thank you to Mrs Short, our Year 5 PLC (team) Leader, who has been working with a very motivated group of students to demonstrate 'Helping Others Succeed in Learning'.

Thank you to all the students involved and the families who have supported this.

Construction Works - Starting next week

From next week, you will see some extra trades around the school. This will be at the back of the Year 3 & 4, as well as the Senior Library.  Please refer to the diagram below for the areas that are expected to be impacted. We will send updates via Compass if any of the areas are affected, which may cause an inconvenience to families. Please be patient with us during this time - it will all be worth it in the long run.

Enjoy your weekends
