International Student Trip to the Footy

Lilli
Last Friday, our group of international students went to the Carlton vs St Kilda AFL game in Melbourne. We all rode together on the school bus, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. At the stadium, the crowd was loud and energetic — it was impossible not to get caught up in it. I sat with friends and teachers, and we really enjoyed watching the game and spending time together. It was such a fun night and a great way to experience something that’s a big part of Australian culture.

Last Friday, our school organized a trip to the MCG to watch an Australian Football match. The stadium was grand and impressive.
The game was fast-paced, with players running, passing, and tackling.Every score was met with loud cheers from the crowd, and I was completely drawn in.
The most memorable moment was when a defending player slapped the ball away just before it crossed the goal line. Many thought it was a goal, but after the referee reviewed the replay, it was ruled invalid. It showed the players’ spirit of never giving up.
Through this match, I not only learned more about the rules of Australian football, but also felt the power of teamwork and perseverance. I hope to return to the stadium one day to enjoy another exciting game.
