YEAR 9 CAMP REPORT

Our Year 9 students enjoyed a fantastic three-night excursion to Canberra, departing on Tuesday 13 October for an action-packed few days of learning, exploration and fun.
After burning off some energy at Bounce, we headed to Alivio Tourist Park for our first night. Day 2 saw students split into three coach groups, visiting the National Arboretum, Australian War Memorial, Old Parliament House, Electoral Education Centre, Canberra Centre and Australian Institute of Sport.
On Day 3, students visited Lake Burley Griffin before heading to Parliament House, where they met Member for Mallee Anne Webster. They then enjoyed the interactive exhibits at Questacon before exploring the National Portrait Gallery.
We wrapped up the excursion with a movie night back at camp, bringing three busy days to a close.
A huge thank you to Lakes Coaches for their transport and guidance throughout the trip, Alivio Tourist Park for their hospitality, and all the staff who attended and helped make the excursion such a success. Most importantly, well done to our Year 9 students for their participation and engagement throughout the trip, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER)
Dear Parents and Carers,
The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians having the opportunity to visit our national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. As such, they provide financial support to assist families with the cost of school excursions to Canberra.
We are pleased to inform you that our school will receive funding under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) program. This funding amounts to $112.50 per student, which will go towards reducing the overall cost of the excursion.
Please note that this rebate is paid directly to the school after the excursion has been completed.
We appreciate your continued support and look forward to providing this valuable learning experience for our students.
