Victorian Reading Premiers Challenge
Students across the school have been enthusiastically taking part in the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge, diving into new books and discovering the joy of reading. It has been wonderful to see so many students excitedly sharing recommendations, discussing their favourite characters and proudly recording the books they have completed. So far an impressive 783 books have been read by students at St Bernards!
There is still plenty of time for students to get involved, so keep reading and continue the challenge at home and at school.
Here are some book reviews by students in our school:
My Story, Your Story, Our Story
Students across the school have thoroughly enjoyed our Term 2 Inquiry unit; My Story, Your Story, Our Story. Throughout the term, students have been exploring identity, culture and perspective, and have loved sharing their family backgrounds, traditions and personal stories with their peers. It has been wonderful to see students learning from one another and developing a deeper appreciation for the diversity within our school community.
We are now looking forward to our Cultural Diversity Day this Thursday, where we will continue celebrating the many stories, cultures and experiences that make our community so special.
Student Maths Day
St Bernard’s is excited to host our inaugural Year 5/6 Maths Games Day, organised by our Mathematics Leader, Mr Nick. Students from neighbouring schools will come together with 8 of our 5/6 students from St Bernard’s, for a day of teamwork, problem solving and mathematical challenges. We look forward to welcoming our visitors and celebrating a day filled with mathematical thinking and friendly competition.
