After a recent school purchase all classes have been using our brand new Boomwhackers. They help students keep a constant beat and identify when to tap their colour on the ground. We have been trying different warm up pieces as well as popular musical hits from some of their favourite pop stars. They were even shown an Elvis Presley piece called "Hound Dog", and to my surprise, there were a number of students singing along with the song. We have also been looking at the art of miming and non verbal communication. Students have been using a broom handle as a prop. They would use it in a way we could work out what the broom handle had become. Some of the senior students have been working on their acting skills and coming up with their own short plays.
