Dear Families,
It was my pleasure to join the Year 5/6 children at Portsea for their camp last week. We were blessed with magnificent weather and this meant that the children were able to make the most of the beautiful setting of the camp.
It was my absolute pleasure to head off to Portsea with our fantastic Year 5/6 group for camp last week! We were blessed with perfect weather, giving us the ultimate opportunity to explore, play, and soak up every single bit of that gorgeous coastal sunshine.
Over a few days, I watched the children experience new and exciting activities, conquer new challenges, celebrate each other’s success and show genuine kindness towards each other. It is always a privilege to be with children outside of the routine of their regular school day and watch them thrive in a beautiful setting. We are so grateful to Alessia, Emily, Nick and Ash for sharing this experience with the children and ensuring the children’s safety, wellbeing and joy were the priority.
Mother’s Day
What a beautiful morning we had celebrating Mother’s Day here at school! It was such an absolute pleasure to welcome over 100 of our wonderful mothers and special motherly figures into our spaces last week.
The energy around the school was buzzing, and the children were so happy to have the opportunity to spend time with you in their hubs. I truly hope you enjoyed the chance to relax, connect with each other, and enjoy a well-deserved coffee and morning tea.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for making it such a heartwarming and memorable celebration—we are so incredibly grateful for everything you do for your children and our community!
Prep Interviews
It has been a pleasure to begin meeting with the families who have applied for a Prep place at St Gabriel’s for 2027. These conversations are a highly valued opportunity for me to learn more about the children and families joining our school community and to hear about their unique strengths and interests. Looking ahead to 2027 is a great reminder of how our community continues to grow.
Child Safety
I draw your attention to Child Safe Standard 4 in the next section of the newsletter this week:
Families and communities are informed and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing.
Please take the time to read through the Parent/Carer information to understand more about this important Child Safe Standard.
Warm wishes,
Laura
