Respectful Relationships

As part of the Wellbeing Curriculum implemented across Sandhurst Schools each fortnight we will share topics being covered in the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) program.
Preps
Grade Preps are completing a lesson called "What are clothes for?" where students look at different ways clothes protect the body.
Grade 1 & Grade 2
Grade Ones and Twos are looking at the topic of Positive Gender Relations.
Grades 3/4
In Respectful relationships, Students will explore actions they can take if they encounter a situation that makes them feel unsafe. They will learn the three key steps of the No, Go, Tell model and how to use these steps to respond to situations where they feel unsafe. Students will learn to say no by asking the person making them feel unsafe to stop, go by walking away or getting offline if possible, and tell a trusted person about the situation to seek help and support.
Grade 5 and Grades 6
In Respectful Relationships, The 5/6’s are starting a new topic all about gender norms and stereotypes. Students will explore what gender stereotypes are and how they can influence the way people think, behave and treat others. Students will consider common messages and expectations about what boys and girls are “supposed” to be like, and discuss how these expectations can sometimes limit people or create unfair expectations.
A letter was sent home to parents earlier in the Term outlining more information about this topic.
