Can we help your Family?
From knowing about different types of welfare funding and support, what is going on in the school, access to food, uniform and stationery items or being able to offer different payment methods, there are many ways the school office team can assist, link you in with other staff and offer support to you and your family. Please contact Melissa, Jen or Annie for an informal, confidential chat on 9876 3289 or kalinda.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
Alternatively you can discuss these matters with Shaun McClare or Lauren Hopkins
Please name everything. We cannot get it back to you if it does not have a name on it.

Kalinda Primary School's main number is 9876 3289.
Kalinda Primary School's mobile is 0429 871 758
(This number is only monitored in the event of a phone outage or excursions/camps).
You can also save the email address to ensure emails do not end up in your junk folder -
kalinda.ps@education.vic.gov.au
You can email teachers directly through Compass, under your child's profile.
Do you ever find that Compass doesn’t cater for the payment option that would suit your family? If this is the case, please get in touch with us and let us know via a confidential email to kalinda.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
There are lots of different payment options available, but Compass limits us to offering one option to all families. If paying for an event over several weeks, or in smaller payments, suits your circumstances better, we are happy to make this available to you.
For further information, please feel free to contact the office on 9876 3289, or by email to kalinda.ps@education.vic.gov.au, asking to speak to Jen or Melissa in Finance. All finance and administration matters are strictly confidential, and we are happy to help in any way we can.
Occasionally, families will have the need for someone else to pick up their child. For the safety of your child, please complete the attached letter, and contact the office so we can let staff be aware. The form used is a template from the Department of Education and will remain in the school archives.
Primary school children are unable to leave the grounds before 3.30 pm by themselves.

Kalinda Primary School is pleased to announce that the Student Eyecare Program will be running at the school in Term 4, 2026. An optometrist will be onsite during school hours to provide students with a free comprehensive eye examination that is covered through Medicare Australia. 1 in 6 students have eye conditions that go undetected. This is due to the high level of visual demand on their eyes from books, laptops, tablets and smartphones.
Every student will receive a full report about their eye health and a prescription will be provided if glasses are required. The prescription can be taken to any optical store to get the glasses made. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity. To sign up, register online at: https://forms.gle/LxKrRuukRy4WQroP8

Schools are required to enter a volunteer's address, email and phone number into the vicservices app, against Kalinda Primary School. If we are unable to do this, you will not be able to volunteer. Please ensure all family members ( such as grandparents etc ) are aware that when they come to the office, they will be asked this.
We will once again be offering families the opportunity to purchase a special Kalinda Grade 6 Polo shirt or Hoodie. Some students may decide to order both. These tops are a wonderful way to 'stand out' as leaders of the school, and whilst they are definitely not compulsory, I know the students eagerly await this rite of passage!
Students in Grade 5 this year have had a chance to submit a design for the back of the top and the year level voted on their favourite design.
Ordering for polo tops and hoodies will be online, via a special Icon Sports link and code. There will be a 2-week window for ordering, and no late orders can be accepted because this is a specially made garment.
Because we are using a new supplier, it is highly advisable that a parent or guardian comes to see the samples and to choose an appropriate size for their child. Sample size hoodies and polos will be available at my office from Friday 16th October to Thursday 22nd October.
Kalinda staff are unable to select a size for your child, so please consider popping in during that week.
Payments and queries will be handled by Icon Sports. Parents will need to log on when the link is supplied and order/pay online. Ordering will close on Thursday 29th October.
The ordering link was published to parents via Compass, and will include detailed sizing charts for your inconvenience.
Polos will be $45 (inc GST) and Hoodies will be $65 (inc GST)
2027 Grade 6 Tops will be delivered to students at school on Day 1 of 2027 Term 1.
If you have any queries at all, please don't hesitate to contact me.
