Week 1 of the Year 10 VET – Trades Taster program at Holmesglen TAFE 2026
2 Weeks ago, 7 Students started an eight-week Trades taster program at Holmesglen Tafe for term 4. Week 1- On the first day, students learned about Tiling and made aseveral artifacts including a chess board and a mosaic design. Students learned how to tile and miter frames made from American White Oak. As they toured the plumbing section, they shared the area with other students from other schools and represented the school in a very positive light, show an inclusive attitude to their fellow class-Colleagues. Well done, Students from Wheelers Hill Secondary College!
Next week we are leaving from Holmesglen to visit the Metro Tunnel Project to participate in Occupational Health and safety modules, to gain an understanding of workplace requirements in industrial contexts.
