Spring Concert 

Congratulations to all our performers from our Spring Concert, which was held on Tuesday November 20th. The audience enjoyed performances from Concert Bands, Rock Ensembles, the Stage Band, Choir and the Percussion Ensemble. It was wonderful to hear the progress that our students have been making. Thank you to our Instrumental Teachers Harper Dawson, Matt Heard, Jeremy Schiftan, Tim Rex, Sullivan Tung and Leah Zilberman for leading and supporting our ensembles this year. I’d also like to thank Ms Zilberman for her contribution to our voice students and Choir this year. Ms Zilberman will be finishing her time at Wheelers Hill in the next few weeks, and Annie Stone will be returning from maternity leave. 

VCE Music

A majority of our Year 12’s have completed their external end of year performance exams, with the final exam this weekend. Charlotte A, Nick H, Cici L, Melinda L and Aziah M have spent many, many hours practicing for this one performance, and should all be proud of the way they have prepared. Also, a big thank you to Alex N (who performed in 3 exams!), Lilly McM, Nicole L, Kaylee H, Cooper M and Tawana C who supported the students in their performances. Our instrumental teachers have also been a vital support in helping prepare our students for these exams. 

Our Unit 2 students presented their Unit 2 program at a Recital Performance for family and friends on Tuesday October 27th. We heard a wide range of styles, and were able to witness the improvement in their performance skills since Semester 1. They will now start working on pieces for Year 12.

Beginner Band VSMF Performance 

The Beginner Band will be performing at VSMF on Wednesday November 11th. All members of the Beginner Band are required to attend this performance, and we have been focussing on our two pieces for this performance in band rehearsals and lessons. For those involved, please provide consent on Compass ASAP.
