Physical Education - Term 1

Prep

Students will engage in Developmental Play, introducing them to new activities and equipment while building their understanding of Physical Education. The focus will be on developing basic motor skills, moving safely in space, and understanding boundaries and simple rules in physical activities.

Grade 1 & 2

Students will focus on fundamental movement skills, particularly catching and throwing. These skills will be developed through partner work, small group activities, and modified minor games to enhance coordination and teamwork.

Grade 3 & 4

Students will participate in two units: Striking & Fielding and Athletics.

Striking & Fielding: Students will play modified versions of kickball, tee-ball, softball, and cricket, focusing on catching, throwing, running, and striking. Skills will be applied in small group games.
Athletics: Students will develop their running, jumping, and throwing techniques, applying these skills in various athletics events.

Grade 5 & 6

Students will participate in Striking & Fielding and Net & Wall units.

Striking & Fielding: Students will refine their catching, throwing, running, and striking skills through modified kickball, tee-ball, softball, and cricket games.
Net & Wall: Students will be introduced to Volleystars and Tennis, learning fundamental techniques and applying them in modified game settings.

Team Vic registration

The School Sport Victoria (SSV) Team Vic representative program provides a development platform for Victoria’s emerging student athletes to participate in the annual School Sport Australia (SSA) Championships. SSV coordinates the selection process for Team Vic teams in partnership with relevant state sporting organisations.
