Auslan

Prep students have participated in their first Auslan classes! We are all very excited to have them begin their signing journeys. 

Students have learnt some basic Auslan greetings and Deaf awareness, including the importance of eye contact. 

This week students designed their own hearing aids, as we explored different devices and communication choices deaf people can use.  

Grade 1-3 students have been expanding their Auslan greetings vocabulary, through a very catchy song (sorry in advance if it becomes stuck in their heads). 

They have also participated in a ‘Deaf Myths’ activity, where together we explored common misconceptions about Deaf people. It made for some fantastic discussions!
