Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Update
As we approach the end of Semester 1, we would like to congratulate our students on their efforts and achievements throughout the semester. The coming weeks provide an important opportunity for students to reflect on their progress and set goals for continued success in Semester 2.
Semester Reports
Semester reports will be released via Compass on the final day of Term 2. Reports provide valuable information about student achievement, learning behaviours and areas for future growth. We encourage parents and carers to take the time to review the report with their child and celebrate their successes while discussing goals for the semester ahead.
Summative Assessment Tasks
Summative assessment task results are available for families to view through Compass and are also reflected in students' semester reports. These assessments provide evidence of student learning against the Curriculum and form an important part of our reporting process.
Semester 2 Subject Commencement
To support continuity of learning and ensure an equitable distribution of teaching and learning time across the school year, students in Years 7-10 commenced their Semester 2 subjects during the final two weeks of Term 2. This approach helps balance the number of teaching and learning weeks across both semesters and accounts for the end-of-year Jumpstart program, where students begin preparing for their studies in the following year.
NAPLAN Results
Students who participated in NAPLAN earlier this year are expected to receive their individual results early in Term 3. Results will be distributed directly to students to take home. Further information regarding the interpretation of NAPLAN reports and how families can support learning growth will be provided once the results arrive.
Term 3 Assessment Schedule
To assist students with planning and managing their workload, the Term 3 Assessment Schedule is outlined below. Students are encouraged to use this schedule to organise their study routines, monitor upcoming deadlines and maintain consistent engagement with their learning throughout the term.
Please note that individual subjects may have additional assessment tasks scheduled throughout the term. Students should continue to monitor Compass and communicate with their classroom teachers regarding specific assessment requirements and due dates.
Conferences
Conferences will be held during Week 3 of Term 3 on Thursday 30 July. Conferences provide an important opportunity for students, parents/carers and teachers to discuss learning progress, celebrate achievements and identify strategies for continued growth. Further information regarding bookings will be communicated via Compass early in Term 3.
Thank you to our students, staff and families for their continued commitment to learning. We wish everyone a safe and restful holiday break and look forward to an exciting and productive Semester 2.
