The Year 12 Ag Hort students have almost completed Area Study 1 and will do their SAC on Friday this week. As part of their SAC preparation the students attended a ‘Get into DigiAg’ workshop at the Tatura DEECD. This involved assembling a digital soil moisture sensor, using Python programming language to collect data from the sensor, and then converting the data to relevant information about plants and soil moisture requirements.

Year 10 Agriculture News
Both classes of the Year 10 Agriculture students have been learning about various aspects of sheep. One of these aspects is the ruminant digestive system - its structure, the functions of each part, and how intestinal worms affect the health of the animal. To demonstrate their learning, students worked in groups to create a plasticine model of a digestive system in 30 minutes. Ms Dean was guest judge and chose the winners of the Best Overall System and Best Individual Feature.
Students will complete their CAT (on sheep) during Week 7.
Students have also been outside preparing the yard and facilities for the imminent arrival of this year’s wethers.
