Principal's Report

As we near the end of Term 1, I would like to acknowledge the wonderful start to the year we have had. It has been fantastic to see students engaged in their learning and taking pride in their work across both campuses. I continue to be impressed by our amazing school community and the positive atmosphere around the school.

NAPLAN

Last week, our Year 3 and Year 5 students completed the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN), with a small number of students completing make-up sessions this week. Our students approached the assessments with focus and resilience, and we are very proud of the way they gave their best effort. NAPLAN is just one part of our assessment and reporting process and does not replace the ongoing assessments teachers make about each student’s progress. Individual results will be sent home later in the year, expected late next term or early in Term 3.

Fundraising

We have several fundraising opportunities currently running and appreciate the continued support from our families. Please remember to place your Hot Cross Bun orders, with forms due back to school by Friday, 27th March.

You can also support our school by:

Every contribution helps support opportunities and resources for our students..

Discover Millwarra Open Days - Next Week

Families and community members are warmly invited to attend our Discover Our School Open Afternoon at both Millwarra campuses. It’s a lovely opportunity to visit the school, explore our learning spaces and see first-hand the wonderful things happening across Millwarra. I will be there with our Wellbeing Leader, Tiahn, to help run a fun scavenger hunt and offer tours of our school. I would love the chance to meet you and share what makes our school community so special.

Millgrove Campus – Monday, 23 March  1:30pm – 2:30pm

Warburton East Campus – Friday, 27 March  2:00pm – 3:00pm

Electives Program Highlight – From Garden to Plate

As part of our Electives Program, students have been enjoying hands-on learning in the kitchen, using fresh vegetables from our own garden to make delicious mini quiches. It has been wonderful to see students so engaged and proud of creating something from produce they have helped grow themselves.

Head Lice Reminder

From time to time, head lice can appear in schools. We encourage families to regularly check their child’s hair and treat if required. Your support in monitoring and treating head lice helps minimise the spread within the school community and keeps everyone comfortable and learning.

Looking Ahead

We are looking forward to our Term 1 Celebration Day at the Warburton East Campus on Thursday, 2nd April. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and celebrate the term with games, an Easter hunt, our Easter bonnet parade and a whole school assembly.
