Community Engagement

Kinder Visits to St Roch's  - Guardian ELC, Samantha's Pre-school &  Little Lane ELC

We are always excited to open our school to the local community and this past week has provided us with the opportunity to welcome three pre schools to St Roch's. We value the relationship we have with these early learning centers and witnessed so much excitement during their visits.  Our Year 6 students with Miss Allen and myself had the honour of spending time with these younger students. They enjoyed an Easter story, an Easter egg hunt in our playground and made a bunny ears headband to take home. They were fully engaged and showed real readiness to become Prep students shortly. We are very grateful to the Year 5 students who created the easter baskets, to the Year 6 students who were the guides and 'buddies' on the day, to Miss Allen for her support and to the early childhood staff who accompanied them. It was a real team effort!

Open Morning Tours & Evening Twilight  Tour

We had the most wonderful Open Twilight Evening on Wednesday 18 March. We welcomed a big group of families who were delighted to meet our Year 5 and Year 6 students. Our senior students led interactive activities across the school giving the touring families a sense of what is on offer here at St Roch's in the STEM room, Art Room, Preforming Arts room and during a PMP session. The students were outstanding in showcasing the very best of our school and the parents were treated to a performance in the Performing Arts room that would rival our school production! Enormous thanks to the senior students who were able to join us and to their parents who enabled them to participate. We look forward to the next three Open Morning Tours.

We are excited to be welcoming 'Chess for Schools' back to St Roch's in Term 2. Chess Club is open for students in Prep to Year 6 and will operate on Wednesday at 11.00am for eight weeks throughout Term 2. Please consider registering your child in this popular lunchtime club. There are many benefits both academically and socially when children play chess.

We welcome a new coach, Zach to St Roch's this term. Registration for St Roch's is now live on the Chess for Schools website and Term 2 registrations are open here:

It's all happening at lunchtime at St Roch's! We are pleased to be able to offer extra curricular activities for our students throughout the week during break times. We are very excited to announce two new clubs at St Roch's...Singing Club and Performing Arts Club.

Singing Club with Mrs O'Gorman and an enthusiastic group of students is held every Friday at 11.10am. Performing Arts Club will commence shortly led by our Arts Leaders Rose, Aira, Olivia, Matilda and Mrs O'Gorman.

Gardening Club is held every Wednesday at 11.10am and is open to all students from Prep - Year 6. Mrs Meseha has a real 'green thumb' which is rubbing off on our students who love helping her keep our veggie gardens looking amazing! Delicious mud pies were made last week?!?

STEM Club is led by Mrs Jensen and our STEM Leaders Luka and Conner on Thursdays at 11.10am.

Dance Club with Roxanne by Dance Fitness Victoria is held every Thursday at lunchtime at 11.10am and is open to all students from Prep - Year 4.

Please encourage to children to participate in any of these clubs should they wish to come along.  The more the merrier!

Icy Pole Friday

Our School Captains Mia and George will be selling icy poles for a gold coin donation at 3.30pm in the playground each Friday afternoon. Your donations help to improve our school and the Gaga Pit has been a fantastic addition to our playground. Thank you for all of your support to keep improving our school.
