A prayer for the Sacrament of Reconcilation:
Loving God,
We come to You today to heal the things we’ve done,
We thank You for the mercy and the love that never breaks.
Thank You for forgiving us and making our hearts brand new.
As we grow in unity and walk much closer to You.
Help us share Your shining light and keep us from all sin,
To feel Your joy inside our souls and find Your peace within.
Amen.

RETREAT SESSION WITH FATHER GALLACHER
Last Tuesday, Year 3 went over to the Narthex of the church to meet with Father Gallacher and learn more about the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We learnt how the 10 commandments are what God is expecting of us, for example, to be kind and to be honest. This helped us to think about what we might talk about at Reconciliation.
We then went into the church and saw the confession room which is where parishioners can experience Reconciliation on a regular basis. We enjoyed talking to Fr Gallacher, learning more about the Sacraments and also about life as a priest! Thank you to Fr Gallacher, Mrs Fay, Mrs Ries and Mrs Swift for supporting this session.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
On Thursday, it was with great excitement that the Year 3 students experienced their first Reconciliation with their families. We pray that their first experience will lead onto regular opportunities for Reconciliation as a member of St Roch's Parish.
CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK: YEAR 6 VISIT TO CATHEDRAL AND CONCERT IN THE PARK!
Our Year 6 students had a great day in the city, joining together with over 150 other Primary and Secondary Catholic Schools to celebrate Catholic Eucation Week. We experienced a packed Cathedral with Archbishop Comensoli and our very own Father Gallacher leading the service. After that, we were treated to a tour of the Cathedral with Father Gallacher and it was very special to have Archbishop Comensoli join us and speak to us also during that time!
We then joined other schools down at Treasury Gardens for music, games and activities for the afternoon!
