We are looking forward to celebrating St Patrick’s Day with a special liturgy on Tuesday 17th at 2:45pm. As this celebration falls during the Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN period, we will not be holding a “Touch of Green” day this year. We look forward to coming together in prayer as a school community to honour St Patrick.
The Season of Lent at Sacred Heart🌿
Lent is a special season in the Church that prepares us for Easter. It is a time of reflection, prayer, kindness and growth. Over these 40 days, we are invited to slow down, think about how we can become more like Jesus, and consider how we care for others.
At school, we talk about Lent as a time to:
Grow in kindness and forgiveness
Rather than focusing only on “giving something up”, we encourage students to think about what they can take up - perhaps helping at home, including others in the playground, or speaking kindly.

From dawn till dusk I think of you and what you’ve done for me,
We ask that you watch over us and our Sacred Heart family,
As you guide us through this long journey of life,
We proudly represent our school in the navy, red and white.
Every day the Gifts of the Spirit we endeavour to use,
Help us try our hardest and guide us in the new adventures we choose.
We thank you for the fruit from the trees and light from the sun,
For our friends and teachers who make our school days fun.
Help us to love and forgive each other and demonstrate our faith,
We pray for all the special people in our lives, keep them happy and safe,
Let us appreciate what we have and be more like Jesus in every way,
May God’s wisdom be in our hearts and in our minds as we learn each day.
Amen
Sacred Heart of Jesus

Chorus:

Sacred Heart school start of our journey
to know you and love you and walk in your way.
We come to together from all different places
love in our hearts and smiles on our faces
parents to love us and teachers to guide us
they walk beside us all of the way.
Many have walked through these halls and these classrooms,
eager to listen, ready to share
all of the wonders and mysteries you bring us
learning through Jesus and learning through prayer
chorus
We learn about justice, forgiveness and kindness
we learn to be helpful to love and to care
to stand and be strong and sing out God’s glory
showing the world what’s right and what’s fair

each of us special each of us rare
Filled with your spirit with faith and with courage
and friends who will stay with us year after year
