National School Constitutional Convention

Congratulations Luke Yu – National Delegate!

We are incredibly proud of Year 11 student Luke Yu, who has been selected to represent Nossal High School at the 31st National Schools Constitutional Convention (NSCC). The Convention will be held at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, Canberra, from Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 March 2026.

Luke will join 113 Year 11 and 12 students from across Australia to debate this year's topic:

 'Should Section 53 of the Constitution be amended to prevent the Senate from blocking supply (rejecting money bills)?'

The program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and includes a Welcome Reception at Parliament House, a meeting with the Governor-General at Government House, and an official dinner at the National Press Club.

Outcomes from the Convention will be presented to the President of the Senate for tabling in Parliament and recorded in Hansard.
