Grandparents' Day Music Concert

What an incredible showcase of our Primary musical talent at Grandparents' Day on Friday! Our Grandparents enjoyed a special concert featuring our string players, band members, Prep students, and choristers from both the Piccolo Choir and Campo delle Voci. Every Primary musician had their moment to shine in this memorable event.

Combined Junior Music Festival

We are immensely proud of our young musicians who participated in the Combined Junior Music Festival on Tuesday 13 August. Our students represented the College with pride and engaged wonderfully with their peers from Brisbane Boys’ College and Somerville House.

A big thank you to our staff members, Karen Gordon, Tim Opstelten, Alessandra Kiehne, and Jessica Ryan, for sharing their expertise with our String, Band, and Choral students. Their dedication ensured that our students had a fulfilling and rewarding experience.

Year 7 Ceramics Workshop with Wendy Winsley

Recently, our Year 7 students participated in an exciting ceramics workshop led by acclaimed artist Wendy Winsley. The workshop, themed 'Wildlings in Ceramics,' encouraged students to create sculptures by incorporating different objects and blending various techniques into one cohesive and wild piece.

Throughout the day, Wendy guided the students in exploring the art of ceramics, teaching them how to mould and shape clay while experimenting with diverse materials. The result was a collection of unique, imaginative sculptures that showcased the students' creativity and newfound skills.

Here’s what the students had to say:

  • "I loved being able to spend all day focused on the creativity of making in Art."
  • "It was great to have an artist like Wendy share her skills in ceramics with us."
  • "It was amazing to see what we could make with clay after learning the basic skills."

The workshop was a fantastic opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the creative process, leaving them with a deeper appreciation for the art of ceramics.
