What a ride! Our Lalor East PS girls brought grit, goals, and great sportsmanship to the district championships. Across four intense pool games, the team pressed hard, defended bravely, and earned the right to play for the title, finishing the day as District Runners-Up with smiles all round.

• R1 – vs Thomastown Meadows: Won 5–0

• R2 – vs Lalor Gardens: Drew 3–3 (against the pool favourites)

• R3 – vs Lalor PS: Won 10–2

• R4 – vs St Catherine’s PS: Won 6–0

Qualify Journey

With Lalor Gardens also in hot form, qualification came down to goals scored and goals against. After the district tallied the numbers, LEPS edged it with two more scored and two fewer conceded to top the pool and book a place in the grand final. Clutch!

Grand Final vs St Peter’s

We struck early to take the lead, showing the same belief and bravery that carried us through the pool. In a hard-fought, end-to-end contest, St Peter’s finished stronger and we went down 1–5. But still heads held high, what a performance to reach the last match of the day and finish in second place!

Coach’s Wrap

I’m incredibly proud of our girls. Their determination, team values, and never-give-up attitude were outstanding. Every player had a vital role, pressing, passing, blocking, and finishing and our captain led by example with a phenomenal goal haul.
