Before & After School Care

Weekly Highlights - Term 3 Week 7
All the Things that we love here at Lalor East TheirCare
Here at Lalor East Their Care children have being expressing lot of interest in K-pop songs and activities related, so this week children have been able to express their interests through dancing, art/craft and group broad games.
Children were also able to explore science as we tried to make crystals by using salt. It was amazing to see children being able to extend their imagination through play.
Science experiments promote critical thinking as children observe, predict, experiment and analyse results. They learn to make connections between cause and effect, develop problem-solving skills and enhance their ability to reason logically – skills that will serve them well throughout their academic and personal lives.
Weekly Highlights - Term 3 Week 8
R U OK?
This week our children from Lalor East TheirCare have being concentrating on R U OK? During our BSC and ASC group discussions children were able to share their knowledge and understanding on what this word mean and learn about how to approach someone who needs help and how to help.
R U OK? is an Australian non-profit suicide prevention organisation, founded by advertiser Gavin Larkin in 2009. It revolves around the slogan "R U OK?" (grogram for "are you okay?") and advocates for people to have conversations with others. The organisation holds a dedicated R U OK? Day annually on the second Thursday of September, which encourages Australians to connect with people who have emotional insecurity, to address social isolation.
Children were also able to explore science through making louds of science experiment like slime, salt crystals and volcano in the sand. We also were able to use some of our recyclable boxes to create doll houses for our favourite characters. It was also amazing to be exploring outdoors and our gym spaces where children were able to engage in group experiences like Ga Ga Ball, Basketball and volleyball.
Reminders:
Lalor East TheirCare also follows Sun Smart and as of 1 September, we encourage children when going outside to place suncream and sunhats.
Please make sure your child have a hat in their bag for when attending our session.
If your child requires special sunscreen please let the staff know, as we only carry 50+ homebrand.
Parents are required to get their child/ren warmer jackets as we encourage and support indoor/outdoor play.
It would be amazing to have families share any recipes with us as we are starting with our Cooking club as of next week
