Gemma Takes the Stage at NSW Parliament

On Friday 14 August, Gemma proudly represented Meadowbank at the inaugural Jordan Lane Public Speaking Competition. Following a successful audition process, Gemma was selected to present her ideas on the floor of the NSW Parliament's Legislative Assembly. 

Hosted by former Meadowbank Public School student Jordan Lane MP for Ryde, the competition invited students from across the electorate to deliver a speech addressing the question: "What’s a challenge facing young people today, and how can the government solve it?" Gemma’s presentation focused on the health issue of vaping and the pressures of peer influence, urging the government to implement education programs in schools to raise awareness and support healthy choices among young people. 

Gemma’s insightful and passionate speech impressed both the judges and audience, highlighting her commitment to making a positive difference. Her participation is a testament to the strength of public speaking at Meadowbank and the important voices of our students.

After the competition, Gemma was invited to attend a morning tea with judges, including the Mayor of Ryde, Trenton Brown and Jordan Lane MP. Congratulations, Gemma on representing Meadowbank at this important event! 

PSC Stage 2 Shoutout

Thank you to our Stage 2 students for getting involved in last Thursday’s PSC Active Thursdays Soccer Challenge!  

A huge shoutout to Zidane (4T) and Lucas (4J), who showed off their skills in our dribbling and juggling challenges and came out on top. Well done!

Tony Wins Gold in Judo

Tony from 1J participated in the Dream Judo 2026 Junior Open on 16 August and won a Gold Medal. What an incredible achievement, well done Tony!
