Performing Arts

Music Incursion
On Wednesday, 9th September, performers from Water Rhythms by Musica Viva will come to Kalinda to perform for all students. This performance brings together a unique and engaging mix of music, movement and storytelling. In preparation for the show, students will participate in a range of activities during Performing Arts classes to prepare to best engage with the performance.
Students will be enchanted by the rhythm and flow of water in this dynamic performance as these talented performers bring together music, movement and visual storytelling.
Through an engaging blend of percussion, soundscapes, and contemporary dance, students explore how rhythm and movement can reflect the natural world. As the performers respond to each other in real time, students learn to listen deeply, interpret sound through movement, and express themselves through their own bodies. This highly immersive show encourages students to connect rhythm and motion, sparking new ways of thinking about music, dance and self-expression.
In the lead-up to the incursion, students will engage with education resources and workshops in Performing Arts classes to help them prepare for the performance. These will include hands-on activities, interactive content, instructional videos and independent tasks.
We are very lucky to be able to offer this incursion and learning activities at no cost to families.
