Division Football Carnival

St Monicas Day at the Footy 

On Wednesday the 22nd of July the 5/6 St Monicas footy team went to the Sandhurst Division Football Carnival out at Cathrine McAuley College.  

Round 1 

Going into to round 1 the team felt the nerves as they were up against Camp Hill but with George as captain, we managed to power through with Nolan getting a few kicks in his first game of football and Blake holding it together in the centre. Scores 18-9. Captain George.

Round 2 

Round 2 was against Golden Square where we were a bit late to get going but held up nicely only conceding 4 points. We snagged the win with a last-minute goal by Blake to seal the victory for us. Scores 6-4. No captain. 

Round 3 

Epsom did not turn up so luckily we were able to play a friendly against St Liborius who had the bye, but we did not win. Captain Fletcher.

Round 4  

In Round 4 we played St Josephs and with Alwyn being best on ground and leading by 2 goals in the first half we managed to take yet another win with Jenson kicking goal of the day! Scores 16-1. Captain Lauren. 

Round 5 

Round 5 against Big Hill was our best game of the day and with an amazing goal from Brodie we made it through to the Grand Final. 

Scores were 34-16. Captains Elodie and Kyal. 

GRAND FINAL!!! 

Specimen Hill came out firing, but George touched the ball on the line and saved a goal to start the game, but all good things come to an end as Specimen Hill kicked the last 4 goals of the game to win the grand final against us. Scores 37 to 7. Captains Blake and Aloe. 

Huge thank you to Ethan and Mr. Boulton for putting everything together on the day and being our coaches and another big thank you to Mrs. Miller for organising the teams.

Division Netball Carnival

Netball Tournament  

The following girls represented St Monicas at CVNA on Wednesday 29th of the July 2026 on the netball court, Grace, Mia, Lily, Ivy, Shelby, Adeline, Emery, and Ava. The games were two eight-minute quarters.  

The first game we played was against St Therese’s and unfortunately, we lost by four. Secondly, we played Marist and we slayed on the court and we won by 5! Thirdly we played st Ingle-Bridge and won 18-0. The fourth game we played was against Girton, we won by two, it was 6-4. 

Next game we played was against Kennington primary school and again won 6-4. Our 6th game we played was against Holy Rosary. It was a close game but unfortunately, we lost by 1 because the girl shot the last goal on the siren. 

Lastly, we played against Maiden Gully we did win but we forgot the scores. The day was so fun. We played 7 games all up, and we played so well and placed 3rd on the leaderboard out of eight. 

We appreciated going so much and if you get the chance, you should go.
