Principal's News

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe.

The care, safety and well-being of children and young people

It is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Good afternoon families,

It has been absolutely lovely to be welcomed back by so many of you this week! I had an amazing time travelling through Italy, Scotland, Ireland, England, Egypt, and Greece. The world is truly a wonderful place to explore, and escaping the chilly Melbourne winter for a few weeks was certainly a wonderful bonus.

I want to extend a huge thank you to Tanya and Thomson for keeping the school running so smoothly in my absence and for always keeping our students’ needs at the forefront of everything they do.

I would also like to express my gratitude to Mrs Douglas and our Prep teachers for preparing this week’s beautiful Prayers in Pyjamas morning. Thank you so much to all the parents and grandparents who were able to join us for this special event.

🔍 Upcoming School Review

This August, our school will undergo its formal School Review, an important process that occurs every four years.

An independent assessor is allocated to our school to interview a small cross-section of the community and evaluate the evidence we have gathered for our self-assessment across 5 key spheres:

  1. Religious Education
  2. Leadership & Management
  3. Learning and Teaching
  4. Student Engagement
  5. School Community

Our allocated assessor is Craig Tanner. Here is what the timeline looks like for his visits:

  • Monday, 10 August: Initial meeting with myself.
  • Monday, 17 August & Tuesday, 18 August: Craig will return to meet with the school leadership team, teachers, learning support officers, students from Years 3–6, parents, and Father Michael.
  • October: A final report will be compiled and shared with the school community.

I am very much looking forward to this process and feel confident that we will have a great deal to celebrate!
