Year 3/4 Mad About Science Incursion
As part of the Year 3/4 Inquiry Topic, 'Living in a Material World,' students participated in an incursion on Tuesday that investigated the properties of materials by sorting, testing, and mixing them. They learnt about physical and chemical changes, engineered material mixtures for specific purposes by observing how objects can be made of one or more different materials.
The students also made connections between materials can be combined in a variety of ways for particular purposes and that properties of objects and mixtures can differ from the properties of the materials from which they are made.
Students also investigated the properties of natural and made materials, including fibres, metals, glass and plastics, and how these processes influence their use and re-use.
