CatholicCare Walk-a-Thon

Sacred Heart will be holding its annual Walk-A-Thon in support of CatholicCare on Friday 29 May. Students will be able to raise money by walking laps of the immediate school block, supervised by staff and without crossing any roads.  All money raised will go directly to support CatholicCare and assist families in need.

Students will be walking in the hour between 11.30am and 12.30pm and families are welcome to come along and support the children.

Families or friends are encouraged to donate in support of this important charity and we invite you to please fill out the form that was sent home last Friday and return it to your child’s classroom teacher together with any sponsorship amount as soon as possible.

Students need to wear their Sport Uniform on the day.

National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. At its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.

On Friday 29 May, all students will participate in a First Nations incursion facilitated by Didgeridoo Australia. The session comprises of a comprehensive presentation and discussion of traditional cultural activities and their interrelation with seasonal changes in the natural environment. The educator will showcase a large range of authentic Aboriginal artifacts relating to hunting, music, arts and crafts. Throughout the session several objects (boomerangs, animal skins, possum skin game ball, emu eggs, baskets and more) will be passed to the students for a hands-on experience.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

The NCCD is an annual collection of information about Australian school students who are receiving adjustments because of disability.

  • For the NCCD, schools count the number of students receiving adjustments because of disability and make decisions about the level of adjustment being provided for each student with disability.
  • Schools provide NCCD information to education authorities and the Australian Government Department of Education.
  • For the NCCD, school teams must have evidence to show that they have followed the Standards processes.
