Welcome Back to Term 2

Welcome to the start of Term 2! We’re thrilled to have our students back in the classroom and ready to dive into another term full of learning and growth. We hope you all enjoyed a refreshing break, making lasting memories with family and friends.

As we move into Term 2, let's continue working together to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment for everyone.

Pupil Free Day TERM 2

Just a reminder that our Term 2 PFD is next Monday, 11th May (Term 2 Week 3).  Further days will be confirmed in the coming weeks for terms 3 and 4.

Our upcoming Pupil Free Day will focus on continuing to strengthen our Culture of Excellence (CoE) at LNPS. Throughout the day, staff will build greater clarity and consistency in how we work together, deepening our understanding of the CoE framework, the Five Agreements, and the role of our Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) and Collaborative Planning Teams (CPTs). Teams will engage in collaborative planning using the Destinations, Milestones, and Footsteps (DMF) model, ensuring our teaching is purposeful, aligned, and responsive to student needs.

This ongoing work supports our shared commitment to high-quality teaching and improved outcomes for all learners.

Mid -Year Progress Reports (Semester 1)

Mid Year Progress Reports will be published and available in the EMS Community Portal from 12pm on Monday 29th June .

If you don't have access to the EMS Community Portal please contact Vanessa at the Front Office.

The Mid -Year progress reports provide a detailed and personalised outline of your child's growth and next steps. Our progress reports further give an accurate and objective assessment of their achievement.

It is common for families to query why their child may not be working at year-level standard, and this is primarily due to the Semester 1 reports being mid-year progress reports, and that our students are still working towards the year-level expectation.

The mid-year report reflects student achievement demonstrated against the standard, taking into account what has been taught to that point in the year. When reporting in the middle of the year, our teachers make an on-balance judgement as to what level of achievement the student is demonstrating in relation to the achievement standard, taking into account the curriculum taught and assessed to that point in the year.

Staffing Update

This term, we welcome Emily Haller to LNPS, who joins us this term as a contracted TRT. Emily will be covering leave and NIT release days, teaching PE on Wednesdays. We also have Linting Huang, who will be working in M5 on Wednesdays, as Miss Maddy will be working as our Effective Learners Teacher for the remainder of the year, and she will continue in R7 on Fridays.

On Friday, Mirjana will be working at ORBIS Learning, supporting our Early Career Teachers, so we will have a reduced Leadership Team for the remainder of the term.
