CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

As we conclude a rich and faith-filled term, we reflect with gratitude on the many ways our school community has grown in spirit, service, and connection. Weekly Masses and liturgies have continued to be a cornerstone of our life together, offering students a regular opportunity for prayer, reflection and celebration. Catholic Schools Week was a highlight, drawing us together in gratitude for our shared mission, and our Trinity Mass -celebrating our school’s feast day - was a joyful expression of our identity and values.
Later this term we were honoured to host Bishop Peter Murphy for the Sacrament of Confirmation, where our candidates were strengthened in their faith and welcomed more deeply into the life of the Church. His visit was a special moment of connection between our students and the wider diocesan family. We were also deeply privileged to take part in the diocesan Jubilee Year Pilgrimage, which brought the Mini Cathedral, the Bishop’s Cathedra, and sacred relics to our school. This spiritual encounter offered a rare and reverent opportunity for students and staff to pause, pray, and reflect.
Acts of service have remained central to our Catholic identity, with Year 10 students contributing to Scripture classes at a local public school and church cleaning for the month of June. Finally, we give thanks for the six staff members who have taken the beautiful step of being received into the Catholic Church on Sunday. Their witness of faith has been truly inspirational. As we head into a well-deserved break, we carry the blessings of this term with us and look forward to continuing our journey in hope next term.
On Saturday, 21st June, 19 of our students received the Sacrament of Confirmation at Sacred Heart Church. We were honoured to welcome our newly appointed Bishop, Peter Murphy, who celebrated this special occasion with us.
Confirmation marks a significant step in the journey of faith, strengthening the grace of Baptism and sealing the candidates with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
During his homily on the Saturday evening, Bishop Murphy spoke powerfully about Eucharistic miracles, encouraging the candidates and congregation to reflect on the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and the wonder of God’s love shown through these sacred signs.
We give thanks for this joyful occasion and continue to keep our newly confirmed students in our prayers as they grow in faith and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
School Mass times are 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church. Please remember that hot beverages should not be brought into the church.
