Welcome to Term 2, Week 10!

As Term 2 concludes, I reflect with thanks on the incredible journey we've shared as a school community. This term has truly been a testament to the dedication and spirit of our students, staff, and families.

Our commitment to a rich and diverse educational experience beyond the classroom flourished this term, with well over 30 extracurricular activities! Highlights included our Kindergarten and our  Year 2 History excursions bringing the past vibrantly to life, and the enriching Year 9 Geography trip to Dorrigo, where students explored the natural environment firsthand.

Our sporting arenas buzzed with energy and healthy competition. Students showcased their skills in numerous events, including athletics carnivals, soccer matches, netball tournaments, touch football games, and the exciting challenges of both rugby league and rugby union.

This term, we emphasised equipping our students with vital life skills and fostering holistic well-being. Our "Real Talk" program provided invaluable sessions around healthy relationships, crucial insights into online safety, and open discussions on consent. Furthermore, "Period Talk" sessions, thoughtfully designed for both girls and boys, promoted understanding and respect. A particularly innovative highlight was the TAFE experience for our Year 9 agricultural students, offering hands-on learning and a taste of future pathways.

Our Catholic faith has been the heartbeat of our school. We lived our faith through action, most notably with the Secondary students' efforts in the Vinnies Winter Warmers Appeal, embodying charity. Catholic Schools Week was a beautiful celebration of our identity, and I have included some photos of my favourite event, our buddy reading in CSW.

Our spiritual life was continually nourished through regular Masses and Liturgies, with the special Trinity Mass being a highlight. We were also incredibly blessed by the inaugural visit of our new Bishop, Peter Murphy, and the Confirmation of our Year 6 students.  A powerful testament to our living faith was the inspiring initiation of six dedicated staff members into the Catholic Church at the Sacred Heart Church on Sunday.

Crucially, all these wonderful activities occurred against the backdrop of our strong focus on teaching and learning. I have personally had the privilege of reading every student's report this term. Each one underscored the effort that our students continue to put into their learning and, most importantly, the academic growth evident across every grade level. This progress is a testament to the hard work of our students and our committed teaching staff.

We also moved forward with our preparation for Year 11 next year with our subject selection process. Thank you to Miss Bailey, Mr Baldwin, and the secondary staff for this important work. Early next term, we will be finalising our subject lines and offerings. We are also looking ahead to 2026 for Kindergarten, and this week I started the interview process. Please spread the word that we are taking enrolments now for 2026, especially in the key transition points of Kinder and Year 7.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.  I wish everyone a safe and restful break, and I look forward to seeing you back for Term 3.
