Year 3 Parent Visit & Assembly

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the parents and carers who joined us today for our Year 3 learning walk, classroom visits, and assembly.

It was excellent to see such a strong turnout. Having families engage with the students’ work and participate in our assembly created a positive atmosphere for everyone involved. We appreciate you taking the time to visit the classrooms and support the children in their learning environment.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our school community.

Year 6 Learning Spotlight: Land Rights and Legacy

Year 6 students have been exploring the profound impact of the Wave Hill Walk-off in Writing, focusing on how the leadership of Vincent Lingiari and the subsequent actions of Gough Whitlam fundamentally changed Land Rights in Australia.

To deepen their understanding, the class analysed the classic anthem "From Little Things Big Things Grow" by Kev Carmody and Paul Kelly. By comparing the original version with various contemporary covers, students examined how music can serve as a powerful tool for storytelling and social change. Students engaged thoughtfully with this pivotal chapter of our national history, reflecting on how individual courage can spark significant progress for an entire community.
