Parks Area Debating Competition
Round 1

Parks Area Debating Competition
Round 1
On Wednesday 27th May, we participated in our first Parks Area Debating Competition against Governor Phillip King Public School, and it was an exciting and memorable experience. The topic was 'Electric Vehicles are Better than Petrol Cars' and we were proud to represent the Affirmative side. Before the debate, we carefully prepared our speeches and arguments while also considering possible rebuttals to challenge the opposing team’s points. Collaborating as a team by developing arguments, refining speeches and supporting one another helped strengthen both our confidence and teamwork skills.

During the debate, we listened attentively to the opposing team’s arguments and worked together to create thoughtful and well-structured rebuttals. Our first speaker took on the challenging role of introducing our team’s position and responding to the opposition, while our third speaker focused entirely on delivering strong rebuttals. As a team, we supported her by helping to organise and strengthen each response. Overall, achieving this fantastic win was an incredible experience, and we are already excited and motivated for our next debate competition.
