Art with Bianca

The theme for the P/1 classes in Art this term is ‘Weather’. We started the unit by drawing different weather events. Check out these wonderful examples!
We will be doing a range of 2D and 3D artworks related to the weather including monoprinted suns, crayon resist rain paintings, leaf rubbings and rainbow sculptures.
The grade 1/2 students will be looking at ‘mapping’ this term and have started off by making a map of their heart. The students were inspired by the book, ‘My Map Book’ by Sara Finelli and were invited to consider who or what has a special place in their heart. These are such delightful and thoughtful artworks!
The theme for the senior classes (3-6) in Art this term is Mythical Creatures.
This coming Thursday, students in Years 3–6 will be visiting the Chinese Museum for a tour and hands-on workshop exploring ‘Dragons in Art’ as part of our studies this term. In preparation, our Year 3/4 students have been developing their drawing skills by studying reference images and creating their own unique dragon artworks. It has been wonderful to see their creativity and attention to detail come to life!
We will share photos from the excursion in the next edition of the newsletter. Stay tuned!
