Run Club is Up and Running!

Our new lunchtime Run Club this term led by Mrs Knuckey, Mrs McIntyre, Griff and Jemma has officially kicked off! Each Friday we head off site, and it was fantastic to see so many energetic and smiling students from Years 3–6, both boys and girls, getting involved and showing great enthusiasm and team spirit.

Run Club is a wonderful opportunity for students to build their endurance, improve their speed and enjoy some healthy exercise with friends. Each Friday we will mix things up with a different session focused on building fitness, confidence and personal bests, all while having fun! We can’t wait to see our runners continue to grow and shine!

Rocky Trail Academy – Melbourne Schools Competition Success

What an incredible achievement for two of our Year 5/6 students at the recent Rocky Trail Academy Melbourne Schools Competition on Friday 20th of February.

Joshua M and Otto B competed against a strong field of 23 students in the Year 5/6 category and delivered outstanding results.

Otto placed 1st.Joshua placed 2nd.

Both boys completed three runs on each of the three trails throughout the day. Joshua showed fantastic determination, sitting in 3rd place before dramatically improving his time on the final and most challenging trail to secure 2nd place overall. An outstanding effort.

Even more impressively, the boys were awarded the Champion Primary School Prize, a title based on points accrued from completed runs and overall placings. This is a phenomenal accomplishment, particularly as Torquay College had just two competitors competing against other schools that had up to 10 students entered.

We are incredibly proud of their resilience, sportsmanship and determination. Congratulations Joshua and Otto on a fantastic achievement.
