May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand

Principal’s Message

What a fortnight it has been at STMM. Our Open Days rolled straight into NAPLAN, and this week we’ve been blessed with two beautiful community celebrations, our St Patrick’s Day Liturgy yesterday and our upcoming Harmony Day gathering on Friday. These moments really do remind us of the heart of our school.

A big thank you to Year 4 and our Choir for leading such a lovely St Patrick’s Day celebration. Your reverence, confidence and joy set the tone for the whole school. Thank you also to the parents and grandparents who were able to join us, your presence is always appreciated. We look forward to welcoming everyone again this Friday for our regular fortnightly assembly and our Harmony Day celebration.

Harmony Day is a timely reminder of how important it is to practise tolerance, kindness and understanding. In a world where so much conflict and division is taking place, our children need to see and experience communities that choose respect and peace. Thank you for modelling this every day.

Over the past two weeks, I have also had the pleasure of interviewing many of our siblings enrolling for 2027. Catching up with families and hearing their hopes for their children is one of the great joys of this role. If you are an existing parent who has not yet submitted an enrollment application for a sibling starting in 2027, please do so as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.

As we move toward the end of term, a few important reminders:

  • Staff Development Day - Monday 30 April

If you require care on this day, please book with SCECS as soon as possible. If sufficient numbers are not received by this Friday, care cannot be provided, so please register promptly.

  • Cross Country – Friday 27 March

A note will be sent home shortly with race times for each age group. Please remember that students must be turning 8 or older this year to participate. To be competitive at the next level, students should be able to run the 2km or 3km distances without stopping. All races will be timed, and students must meet the cutoff times to progress.

If you are able to volunteer on the day, please indicate this on the note your child brings home.

  • Car Line Safety

We still have a number of parents parking across the school driveway in the mornings. Please ensure that if you are dropping children on Clovelly Road, it is not before 8.20am, and that you enter the drop‑off zone with your hazard lights on, moving down as far as possible to the bus sign. Your cooperation helps keep all children safe.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. It has been a full and vibrant fortnight, and I am grateful for the way our community continues to show up for one another.
