Boarding nights can be extra fun when visitors arrive. Maggie, Mary, and Ivana kept Teddy and Bosch company when they came to check out Nagle House. Having a dog around is both calming and familiar for those boarders who miss their dogs at home. Teddy and Bosch have hung out with boarders in Canberra as well as here in  Wagga Wagga.

Mary showed her artistic skills while painting Missy’s face during afternoon activities. There were lots of games, and the musical chairs were especially fun. It is always great to see the whole boarding group come together and laugh and show their MEBs community spirit.

Outside activities have included netball and volleyball competitions, Four way cricket, AGFL and touch footy. There have also been outings to Wagga Beach where the boarders have enjoyed a relaxed afternoon in the park.

Work placement has been happening for several of the Year 11 Boarders from Nagle House. Mia has worked in both child care and a real estate office. Maya is currently working in a hospital and sent through news that she watched a baby being born today - and she still wants to do nursing!

What started out as a single flower on the Nagle Common room noticeboard has grown into a beautiful garden. The colourful display developed over the past 4 weeks and enhances the reminders and notices that are written up each day.

This term, we have been busy supporting the Year 12 boarder as they sat for their HSC exams recently. As they have come to the end of their time here at Mount Erin, we have had to say a sad goodbye, and we send all these fabulous young adults our blessings as they start the next season of their lives.

We were able to catch four of our 2025 year 12 boarders for a photo as they leave for the last time.

Fond farewells as Mac, Jasmin, Chelsea, and Neve leave MEBS for the last time.

Looking back, we hope that they have made many long-lasting friends and memories of their time here, whether it's from the fun of being part of the MEBS community, activity nights, school events, or that last school social.

Recently we farewelled one of our long-serving casual supervisors, Rachael, who will now be concentrating on her teaching career. All of us will miss Rachael and her dedication to assisting our boarders in Nagle House, and we wish her well as she moves into full-time teaching. Rachael was presented with a card and gifts from our leaders and Nagle House boarders.

This year, Sam, Jett, Scarlett, Maisy, Mia, and Maya will all be leading our boarders. They have asked them to tell us a little about themselves.

Sam - I enjoy reading, gaming, and occasionally cooking or baking. I plan to further my education and make the community around me a better place while I do so. I would like to improve the overall mood of Mount Erin, creating a better sense of unity and cohesion between all of the year groups, not just juniors and seniors.

Jett enjoys playing board games, basketball, and video games. He plans to attend university after Year 12 to study astrophysics and build a legacy of participation and belonging within the MEBS community.

Scarlett - Plays AFL and likes to catch up with friends when she is not studying. She hopes to have a gap year with the ADF and would like to leave a legacy that feels safe and where everyone has a voice and is heard.

Mia - I enjoy listening to music and water skiing. I love shopping with my friends and spending time with my family. I want to work in childcare when I’m older. I enjoy helping and supporting children. I like making the children laugh and feel comforted. I’d like to be remembered as someone kind, supportive, and who always tried to make others feel included and happy.

We will look forward to catching up with Maya and Maisy next year to hear their answers.

Many of our boys are currently partaking in their school-based work experience. Samuel is doing his work experience at All Saints Primary in Tumbarumba, and it is going well. Harry is working at Thomas Brothers, and he is learning many new skills. Jeremy is doing this at a carpentry workshop in Tumut, whilst Charlie is doing his work experience at a diesel mechanic.

Jeremy has been selected to represent Kildare Catholic College at the combined Wagga Wagga High School Sports Association (CWWHSSA) Basketball competition.
