Book Bash Inspires Young Writers

During the second last week of term, students participated in two State Library Book Bash webinars featuring authors Amie Kaufman and Jess McGeachin. The sessions were highly engaging and interactive, providing students with valuable strategies for developing story ideas. Using templates supplied during the webinars, students explored brainstorming techniques and created lists of “story seeds” to inspire their writing. We are excited to use these ideas as the foundation for our story writing next term.
The whole class watched a webinar and we learnt how to write a story. It is pretty easy to write a story. You will just need a start, middle and an end. It is easy to write your own story when you have good ideas.

I liked the State Library webinars because we got to draw, make up names, share our hobbies, and brainstorm story starters (well, I tried anyway). We also got very nice and easy to understand instructors.

Dear Amie and Jess,
Thank you for running the webinar activities for us, we really enjoyed it. I'll be excited to do it again. I loved the emojis, interactiveness and the sheets, it was soo fun! I loved the open minded creativity of it. We got to design our own worlds with Jess, and Amie's book about lost things inspired me to write my own! I love these meetings and hope to do one again soon. I feel like I would get along quite well with Amie, and my Stepdad's name is Jess so I know that reputation of being called Jess is pretty good! Thank you all, I had an astonishing time.
