Celebrating the Feast of St. Thomas the Apostle

Tomorrow, Friday 3rd July, our Church community celebrates a special milestone on the liturgical calendar: the Feast Day of St. Thomas the Apostle.

Often remembered historically as "Doubting Thomas," his journey of faith is one that carries a beautiful message for our students today. St. Thomas reminds us all that it is entirely natural to have questions, and that seeking deeper understanding can ultimately lead to a much stronger, more personal relationship with God. When he finally witnessed the risen Christ, his profound declaration—"My Lord and my God!"—became one of the most powerful statements of faith in the Gospels.

Beyond his famous encounter, tradition tells us that St. Thomas went on to be an incredibly brave missionary, travelling far outside the Roman Empire to spread the Gospel as far as India.

St. Thomas the Apostle, pray for us.

Prayer

Dear Lord,

We thank you for the example of St. Thomas the Apostle.

When he was uncertain, he wasn't afraid to ask questions,

and when he saw your love, he answered with absolute faith.

As we wrap up this school term,

bless our students with a curiosity to learn,

the courage to seek the truth,

and a deep, personal faith that proclaims, "My Lord and my God!"

Like St. Thomas,

help us to be brave messengers of your love

wherever we go this winter holidays.

We ask this through Christ our Lord,

Amen.

St. Thomas the Apostle, pray for us.

St. Patrick, pray for us.

School Mass, tomorrow, Friday 3rd July at 12.00pm.

As we approach the end of another term, we invite our school and parish community to come together in prayer and thanksgiving.

Tomorrow, Friday 3rd July, we will be celebrating our final Mass for the term. The service will commence at 12:00 PM at St Patrick’s Catholic Church and will be led by Father Elino. We extend a warm invitation to all parents, grandparents, supporters, and parishioners to share in this special celebration with us.

Tomorrow is also a very significant day for one of our students. We would like to wish Evelyn the absolute best of luck on her special day tomorrow! Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Evelyn.

We look forward to seeing many of our families at the church tomorrow at midday to celebrate together.

Calling for Altar Servers

It was great to see we had five students receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time recently. Did you know that once a child can receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion they can take part in altar serving at both of our school and parish Masses?

Father Elino is looking out for any of our students who would like to become an altar server. Altar Servers must be Catholic and have a basic understanding of the mystery of Jesus present in the Eucharist and of the importance of prayerful reverence in their role as Altar servers.

Servers will be shown how to serve commencing in the near future during lunchtime.

If you have any questions regarding altar serving, don't hesitate to get in touch with Mr Hyatt.
